The FA Cup is the oldest association football competition in the world. The name ‘FA’ is associated with The Football Association. The full name of the knockout cup competition is The Football Association Challenge Cup.

The third trophy looks exactly the same as the current one, but was deemed too fragile to be used after the 1991 final. Interestingly the oldest actual national trophy is the Scottish Cup.
