On June 1st England manger Fabio Capello will have to announce his final 23 man squad for this Summers World Cup in South Africa.

Here at Free Bets On Football we have gathered the best information from the nations top bookmakers on who they think will be on the plane.

This week it’s the turn on the goalkeepers and defenders:

Goal Keepers

Regulations suggest that every country at this sumers tournament will have to take three goalkeepers.

This year Robert Green has been Capello’s number one choice to play in goal. With odds of 1/7, he looks certain to go. Also a likely member of the squad is veteran David James (1/5). Although he has lost his way recently, its seems that his experience will be enough to earn him a place.

Now comes the tricky part. Along with these two, several players are in the frame. Many people’s favourite to grab the last place in Joe Hart (6/4), but either Paul Robinson (13/8) or Ben Foster (4/11) could yet sneek in. A little bet on either of these two could prove profiltable.

Defenders

I think if we say Glen Johnson, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry and Ashley Cole are guaranteed to be part of it (presuming they avoid any injuries), there isn’t many other places available.

Many bookmakers have refused to rule out a return for Wayne Bridge. He has ruled himself out of the running, but his odds of 1/5 suggest many feel he will be there.

Matthew Upson has been a regular squad member under Capello, but after him there seems to be a few places up for grabs. The candiates include Jolean Lescott (4/9), Wes Brown (10/11) and Phil Jagielka (2/1). Recently Ledley King has been making the headlines with his performances for Spurs. Many bookies still have him at 5/1 to make the squad, these sound like great odds to me!

Who do you think will make the squad? Have we missed anyone out?
